NACA Board Requirements
Ongoing Call for Qualified and Passionate Leaders
The National Animal Care & Control Association (NACA) welcomes expressions of interest from professionals who are passionate about advancing the animal care and control profession at the national level. We accept board member interest year-round, and if a candidate meets our criteria and aligns with an identified need, we will reach out directly.
What Board Members Do
Board members help guide the strategic direction, financial oversight, and leadership of the organization, while serving as champions for professionalism and unity across the industry.
We Seek Individuals With Experience In:
- Animal law or animal cruelty/criminal investigations
- Nonprofit finance and strategic budgeting
- Board governance and leadership development
- Public safety or municipal government operations
- Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategy
- Emergency management or disaster response
- Marketing, communications, or digital engagement
- Fund development, sponsorships, or philanthropy
Eligibility Requirements:
- Minimum of five years of experience in animal care and control
- Be a current NACA member in good standing
- Employed by or actively support a relevant government or nonprofit agency
- Sign the Duties of the Corporation Agreement
- Submit to a background check
This is a working board, and members are expected to actively engage in meetings, committee work, and occasional travel to support national initiatives.
